ADCE announces new educational partnerships for Rising Stars program 2017

The Art Directors Club Europe (ADCE) has unveiled its Rising Stars program for the first half of 2017.

Rising Stars comprises all of the ADCE’s best-in-class educational and networking initiatives. Co-funded by Creative Europe Programme – created by the European Commission to fund development of the creative and cultural sectors – Rising Stars aims to give cross-cultural learning opportunities and support to creatives at every stage of their career.

In 2017, ADCE is offering more training opportunities than ever before, kicking off with:

1. Personal Branding Masterclass (with Jürgen Salenbacher)
Dates: 24-25 March, Barcelona

In times of transition, everybody is facing the same question: “What should I do next?”

Hosted by Hyper Island tutor Jürgen Salenbacher, this masterclass will teach you how to better understand your identity, how to position yourself in the creative economy, and equip you with the tools and methods to help others on the same journey.

2. Presenting Creative Work & The Business of Ideas (in partnership with D&AD Festival 2017)
Dates: 25-26 April, London
Presenting Creative Work (with Tom Evans)

It’s a fact that 99% of the creative work produced in an agency never sees the light of day. This session is designed to help increase the odds of your ideas making it to the outside world. It teaches how to structure an effective creative pitch presentation and present ideas with more confidence.

The Business of Ideas (with Patrick Collister)

This session is all about learning how to conceive creative commercial ideas on an individual level. It will improve creative decision-making, explain the difference between left brain and right brain thinking and crucially, sets out the four points of conflict that anybody who creates for a living will encounter while doing their job, before demonstrating how to deal with them.

3. Creative Leadership (in partnership with the Berlin School of Creative Leadership)
Dates: 4-5 May, Berlin

Two days of talks, discussions and workshops on the power of leadership, based on the Leadership Acumen concept, which is at the heart of the Berlin School’s approach. Led by Jamshid Alamuti and Professor David Slocum, the program focuses on practical topics, using real world examples and participant interaction.

4. Art First: Art Direction In Advertising, Editorial and Fashion (curated by the ADG-FAD)
Dates: 8-9 June, Barcelona

Two days of seminars designed to delve into the art of art direction, explore the different work of three key industries: advertising, editorial, and fashion. The program is a great opportunity to meet top creatives from different fields, while together exploring the wider role of Art Direction and its future.
